The Diocese of Camaçari, Brazil was erected with territory taken from the Archdiocese of São Salvador da Bahia.

Bishop João Carlos Petrini was named its first bishop. He had been serving as Auxiliary Bishop of São Salvador da Bahia.

Menezes da Silva named Barreiras Bishop

Bishop Josafá Menezes da Silva was named Bishop of Barreiras, Baia, Brazil.

The diocese had been vacant since the death of Bishop Ricardo José Weberberger, O.S.B. in August 2010.

Bishop Menezes da Silva had been serving as Auxiliary Bishop of São Salvador da Bahia.

Espinoza Jiménez named Morelia Auxiliary

Bishop-elect Juan Espinoza Jiménez was named Auxiliary Bishop of Morelia, Michoacán, México and titular bishop of Arpi.

Archbishop Ezzati Andrello had been serving as Archbishop of Concepción (Santissima Concezione).

Ciattini named Massa Marittima-Piombino Bishop

Bishop-elect Carlo Ciattini was named Bishop of Massa Marittima-Piombino, Italy.

The diocese had been vacant since Bishop Giovanni Santucci was named Bishop of Massa Carrara-Pontremoli in May 2010.

Gilmore resigned, Brungardt named Dodge City Bishop

Bishop Ronald Michael Gilmore resigned and Bishop-elect John B. Brungardt was named Bishop of Dodge City, Kansas, USA.

Bishop Steinbock died

Bishop John Thomas Steinbock, Bishop of Fresno, California, USA, has died.

He was 73 years old and had served as a priest for 47 years and a bishop for 26 years.

May he rest in peace.
